The vivacity and inventiveness of design, the inquisitive, lively attitude of fashion, fresh, pleasure-loving and rather free-and-easy verve are the attributes that most decisively identify the new course of Ragno, under art director Ferruccio Laviani.
 
This established brand, created in 1950 and acquired by the Marazzi Group in 1989, has very precise tendencies. To present itself first of all as a genuine furnishing solution for the interiors of the home. The tile is suggested as being like a new skin that adheres to rooms and characterises them, much like a chair, a table or a sofa. An inner lining, therefore, that covers all the interior surfaces and aspires decidedly to move out of the usual designated locations of the bathroom and the kitchen, to offer itself as an audacious and explosive furnishing and decorative alternative with a high expressive content for all the environments of the home.

Ragno intends to make ceramics - in truth an age-old material - rise to the rank of a “new material” of the future, the bearer of unusual aesthetic contents. With Laviani’s contribution, Ragno wish to reinterpret this world and be in the forefront to offer contemporary and innovative creative furnishing solutions. Ceramics are a living material and the high technology level achieved by Ragno in production opens up frontiers to the introduction of formats, colours, new and unusual material effects.
 
Not coincidentally, the new press campaign devised by Ferruccio Laviani reveals an environment where the texture of the ceramic tile covers everything as a symbolic furnishing element. The declaration of intent is explicit: to cover every environment of the home. The multi-subject campaign will appear immediately in the most important Italian furnishing and women’s magazines.
Laviani will also be involved in revising the catalogues both from a graphic point of view and in the selection and restyling of products. Certain collections will continue to constitute the company’s core business while others, new and future, will represent the new direction Ragno intends to take.
Laviani’s background in the field of product design and fashion, as an architect and designer whose name is linked to the most prestigious firms in the design furniture sector (Kartell, Flos, Moroso, Molteni, Foscarini, etc), but not only (Dolce & Gabbana, Citroen), affords him a privileged perspective for interpreting the Ragno mission: to offer the most innovative decorating solutions for all the surfaces of the home.
